Carolyn was born in Youngstown, Ohio. She attended and graduated from Springfield Local High School before majoring in math at Kent State University. Always interested in the creative process, she was self-taught throughout her working years. After retirement, Carolyn began taking art classes in earnest at the Davis Family YMCA. Her talent for both art and helping others was evident from the start, and in 2024 she joined the art staff, reviving the ARTreach program and initiating Art Outside the Lines, a class for adults with disabilities. Carolyn continues to pursue her passion, teaching and taking even more classes to broaden her skills.
